Ease-of-Use

PilotFish has created the eiConsole for Healthcare, a graphical interface engine IDE that offers a point, click, drag and drop environment for building, managing and maintaining interfaces. Drop down palettes with an available list of options, easy-to-fill-out configuration screens and a unique three-pane data mapper makes even the most complex mappings easy to execute – all contribute to the ideal development environment. It’s an environment where less costly business analyst resources can be utilized for the bulk of interface development while programmers can do the “heavy lifting”.

Flexibility

With the eiConsole for you can transform any format to any other format(s). The power is in XML, a self-describing format well suited for transformation. To take advantage of this, we bind any non-XML format to XML prior to data mapping. The File Specification Editor component provides a graphical user interface for importing, defining and testing fixed-width and delimited file transformations to XML – ideal for ANSI X.12. Other transformation modules, such as the HL7 Transformation Module, can automatically turn standard formats into a corresponding XML representation. Have an extended HL7 version and you need to transport data to a Lab that only accepts 2.4? Or do you have proprietary formats that need to be consumed by a system only supporting HL7 2.x? By loosely coupling the systems, the easy transformations and utilizing the one to many and many to one method of integration, you can provide your data in any format that is needed, and easily, too.

Our processors add flexibility for advanced data manipulation, too. Encrypt, Compress, Validate, Authenticate, Manipulate. Inbound or outbound transactions can be processed through one or more Processor components. Extend the XCS eiConsole by creating custom modules to seamlessly plug-in to any step in the process. An open application programmer's interface (API) is freely distributed with the software.

Reusability

Maximize collaboration and reuse with the PilotFish Interface Exchange (PIE) – the cloud-based “App Store” for interfaces created with the eiConsole. Log on to find sample interfaces and interface components that others have developed, and download them directly into your console. The PIE includes a free library of Healthcare Interoperability Templates based on the HL7 standards. These templates (and others) may be directly downloaded into an eiConsole project to provide a “paint-by-numbers” solution to producing or consuming an HL7 message conformant to a specific HL7 implementation guide. Or, publish your own work for others to use.

Rapid Development/ Deployment

The eiConsole offers an assembly line approach that is structured and methodical facilitating quickly building interfaces. All the components are fully integrated and provide the user with everything they need to build, manage and maintain interfaces. Data can be sent to one system, or to one hundred, in a matter of minutes. You define the decision tree through an easy-to-use routing rule designer.

The eiConsole includes specific industry standards and HL7 support with tools to manage the vocabulary, extend it and slice large vocabularies into more manageable pieces, all of which can result in huge time savings. Mediate differences between standards with our tool, being left with only the differences to resolve.

After you have configured your interfaces, deploy them with just a mouse click on the eiPlatform, integration server, a complete Java framework which allows you to leverage application server technology, web services, and industry XML standards.

High Quality Interfaces

The eiConsole's “assembly line” process ensures that each interface is created in the same manner. Under the covers, transformations are W3C-standard XSLT. To the developer, this means that they can drop into the “code view” at any time. To the rest of us, this means that your finished transformations are portable to any modern platform, and maintainable outside of the Data Mapper by anyone with basic XSLT experience.

Keep things organized with a central repository where your interfaces can be categorized or tagged. For instance, all ADT (admit, discharge, transfer) interfaces may be kept in a separate folder from external HL7 lab reporting interfaces or ANSI X.12 billing transactions. Healthcare institutions may have hundreds of interfaces. With the eiConsole for Healthcare you can keep all your interfaces straight.
