PilotFish Technology® and ClientSoft sign Joint Marketing Agreement to offer complementary
e-commerce technology
Mainframe applications can now "speak" ACORD XML simplifying systems integration
(BUSINESS WIRE) - April 27, 2004 PilotFish Technology and ClientSoft have signed a Joint Marketing Agreement to provide complementary technology enabling end-to-end support for ACORD XML communication between disparate systems over the Internet.
"Our clients frequently ask us about the best way to enable their mainframe applications to speak ACORD XML", explained Neil Schappert, president of PilotFish Technology. "This is often referred to as the last mile of integration and may be the greatest impediment to the successful integration of disparate systems using the ACORD XML standard for message-based communication. There are a variety of alternatives available, many already licensed by our clients' IT shops. While the PilotFish XMLife Communications Suite (XCS) can, by design, work with virtually any legacy system integration tool, we found ClientSoft ServiceBuilder to be an exceptionally simple, cost effective and timely way of accomplishing this integration. Using ClientSoft ServiceBuilder, mainframe applications can be quickly Web Services enabled, allowing them to publish and consume XML".
*Just a few of the mainframe applications still prevalent in the insurance industry that could benefit from this technology include: Life/70, LIFE-COMM, VANTAGE-ONE, INGENIUM, CyberLife, PolicyLink, and The Administrator.
ClientSoft ServiceBuilder represents the perfect complement to the XMLife Communications Suite and the XCS Enterprise Integration Platform (XCS EIP). XCS transforms ACORD transactions to (and from) an XML representation of the proprietary formats and ClientSoft ServiceBuilder transforms the XML representation to (and from) the specific CICS or IMS transaction. In this way, the combined solution provides end-to-end support for mission critical transactions such as payments, electronic applications, and requirement ordering.
