AAA Life Licenses PilotFish Technology’s XCS eiPlatform
ACORD-compliant, SOAP web service interface in
production in 10 person-days
(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2006 PilotFish Technology is pleased to announce that AAA Life Insurance has licensed the XCS eiPlatform to support ACORD-compliant, SOAP web service interfaces. The collaboration of four companies, AAA Life, Renkim Corporation, MIB Group, Inc., and PilotFish Technology, has resulted in the successful implementation and live production operation of the first interface. The initial interface required only 10 person-days of support from PilotFish Technology.
AAA Life Insurance asked their third-party administrator, Renkim Inc., to add the SOAP web service MIB checking service, WEB-DIRECT, to the direct mail new business and fulfillment process Renkim was currently providing on behalf of AAA Life. “We saw this as an integral part of our initiative to achieve straight-through processing of direct mail life insurance”, said Yvonne Alford, VP Administration for AAA Life.
Renkim needed a way to provide seamless integration between their systems, the MIB and AAA Life. The interface to the MIB utilized the ACORD XML standard and a SOAP web services protocol. “Although we had some experience with the particular technology, we decided not to tackle it in house”, explained Brian Hodge of Renkim. “We always want to make sure that we provide the solution to our end client that is the most cost effective, timely, high quality and risk-free. We evaluated several alternatives and recommended PilotFish Technology to provide the interface based on their exceptional track record performing similar implementations and the fact that they have a close working relationship with the MIB”.
