    The XCS eiConsole Offers COBOL Copybook to XML Transformations Via the "Delimited and Fixed-Width File" Transformation Module

    The XCS eiConsole lets you easily convert COBOL Copybook to XML Transformations. As with all the components of the eiConsole the user is presented with a graphical interface with easy to configure panels. The conversion between COBOL copybook formats and XML is handled via the "Delimited and Fixed-Width File" transformation module. The screen is shown below.

    Using the File Specification Editor, the user can create a file specification for the transformation module to describe the conversion from the COBOL copybook format to XML. The File Specification Editor can even import copybook definition files directly.

    As with any file specification, COBOL copybook descriptions interpreted by the "Delimited and Fixed-Width File" transformer are bi-directional, enabling the user to use the same specification to convert from COBOL copybook format to XML, as well as vice-versa.
