SOAP Web Service Listener

The eiConsole supports SOAP Web Services. There are 3 tabs: Basic, Advanced and WSDL.

SOAP Listener Configuration Screen

1. Basic – Here the request path indicates the additional information in the URL beyond the standard URL that will determine if inbound data should be sent to this interface. For a synchronous Web Service, we can also specify a timeout after which an error or SOAP fault will be returned. The SOAPVersion table will allow you to specify the particular SOAP version (Autodetection SOAP, Version 1.2 and Version 1.1). Also, you can specify Timeout handling. It can be: Send timeout message, Return original request or Throw listener exception.

2. Advanced – on the Advanced tab you can specify:

Initialize on trigger only: If enabled, the listener doesn’t start up until a trigger initializes it.
Allow command-line invocation: If enabled, the listener can be invoked using the CLI client application.
Restart on listening error: If enabled, the listener will be restarted after an error occurs.
Synchronous: Specifies whether or not a response is expected.
Require SSL: If selected, plain text requests will be rejected.
HTTP Headers: Allows specification of HTTP header name-value pairs to use in synchronous response.

3. WSDL – at WSDL tab you can specify:

WSDL file: WSDL file that would be returned on request that ends with “?wsdl”. If you want to create new or edit existing file, you can click Edit/New to open WSDL editor.
Validate At The Listener Level: If selected, listener will validate incoming message against XML schema in defined WSDL.
